Good morning everyone! Ok SO here is the comparison for the weight scales:

Bathroom Scale: 217.2
Fitbit Scale : 217.5

Going to go with Fitbit Scale (Be Conservative). Another low!

Yesterday was a more sedentary day. A day of rest and relaxing with my daughter. I expect to have a more active day today as it is the first day back to work. Looks like it will be warmer over all here in NYC. I will write more later...

Morning Update:

So,the train today was uneventful. People can feel it is fall by the chill in the air. I like the fall, the air is crisp, you can see the weather change by the way the environment changes. All in all, one of my favorite seasons. Now I am back at work and you can sense a thick layer of the unknown today, the promotions have not come out yet but people have found out who is getting promoted and there is an unease out there. For me, I have made peace with it. I cannot place my worth on whether someone else values my contributions. I will continue to do what I do and do that well. Am I happy about it? No. Its tough to tell your wife/spouse that you have been passed over despite all the late nights and foreign travel. However, on the bright side, I have my health, a great family and a good stable job. It could be much worse.

Thoughts of the day:

1) Perseverance - There are many times that things look tough. You feel beaten down or you feel that you are running in quicksand. People sometimes add to that feeling of overall depression. DO NOT LET ANYONE OR ANYTHING BRING YOU DOWN. We are in control of our lives and we are the ones who can change course if what we are doing is just not working. In 2004, I changed career streams because what I was doing was not getting me anywhere. That move worked and I am now a leader in my new career stream. In 2010, I grew tired of feeling constantly tired and weary so I changed gears and got myself in shape. This year, I suffered through my mother's passing, however, i used that moment of utter despair to propel me onto this new diet and basically reboot myself. I needed a change and I needed to get back to being healthy and feeling good. My mother would always say "Its Darkest before the dawn"...Do not listen to the naysayers, listen to your gut and move forward in your life. Its only over when you decide to give up.

2) Senior Moment - I left home without putting any product in my hair. I usually use a hair paste to keep my strong stiff hair in place but today I completely forgot. I had a crazy senior moment. I must look like a hedgehog...

3) More than Halfway - So I am at the back end of this marathon to my goal. I started this month worried over the lack of movement due to my trip abroad and ended the month in a flourish of new lows. I am excited and I am looking forward to what these next three months will bring. I know that there are a few holiday obstacles (Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas) but I will make sure to log everything I eat so I stay on course.

4) The Belt - So I bought a new size 38 belt. I put the belt on and fastened it. I am at the last hole in the belt! Damn, that is awesome BUT now I have to buy a new size 36 belt...I guess that is a good thing!

Great inspirational journal! Can you go to the store for hair paste at lunch time?

Wow! I like what you say about perseverance, you are right! It's such a good feeling to have to buy smaller clothes/accessories, isn't it? :)

About the Hair paste, I could go to the store but at this point it doesn't matter, the jig is up and so is my hair (LOL). As far as perseverance, I was frustrated by what I saw as a snub but I am better than this...I cannot allow the negativity cloud the overall happiness that I am feeling about getting control of my weight loss. For me its just about pushing through and seeing the beauty in life. I have a pretty good life. As for the belt, there is a lighter side to things and having to buy a smaller belt is that light side! Onward and upward!
