Boom...there it is!!!! The mini goal achieved...on to the next one!!

Afternoon Update:

Ok, so I am not going to deny it...I am so FRIGGIN HAPPY! I am in the 210's...I cannot believe that I have reached Goal 4 this quickly...I mean, I thought that maybe by the beginning of October I'd be pushing under 220 lbs but no way did I think it would be this soon. How is it happening? I don't really know...but here is what I have been doing the past week or so...

a) Have a protein rich lunch (satisfying and filling)
b) Have an apple a day (just to see if it helps)
c) WATER WATER WATER
d) I don't even feel that hungry at dinner time BUT if i feel a little bit of a pang I have some roasted and salted Almonds. They are tasty and its amazing how quickly they remove hunger...and also drink water.

That is basically all I have done. I haven't really modified much else, I have been trying to get more sleep..going from 5/6 hours to 6/7/8 hours if possible. Exercise wise, just doing stuff at home like housework..haven't even begun to really work out. I love how my body is looking, I see there are certain areas of concern (thighs, Pecs, love handles) but the belly is flat and the fat seems to have been lessened all over. Less than 40 lbs to go but I am in the "red zone" (football reference). I know that I can make my ultimate goal and get there...in about a pound or so, I will be midway to my ultimate goal (38 pounds at the midway point). I am excited to see what I will look like at that point and how I will feel. I will post a mid way picture before and after so you guys can see...

Thoughts of the Day:

1) Speak Up! - I am not a meek person. I do not shrink from public speaking, I don't shy away from making my opinion heard. At work, I am seen as almost an advocate when it comes time to speak to management. Most of my co-workers withing my group are very smart but they are shy....and that is ok. However, I gather the opinions that we discuss and I present it to management...why? If no one speaks up, then concerns are never addressed. If concerns are never addressed then you never get progress...and without progress you might as well go somewhere else. Its not easy but I'd advise everyone, speak up. If you believe that there is some way to make things better, speak up. If something is bothering you that can be remedied, speak up. If you stay silent then you aren't doing anything to make things better. Its like our collective diets...we are being proactive and that is what we need to be in life as well...

2) The Twinkle - When I come home and my daughter greets me, she has the twinkle in her eye. What I mean by the twinkle is that she is really happy to see me. Her eyes light up and I feel the genuine love between us. I embrace my daughter and know that she really missed me. I don't really feel the twinkle in any other ways. My daughter, to me, is a driving force to be a better person and lose weight. I want to live a long time and spare her any pain from suffering at watching me have a health issue. My wife and I have settled into a routine, the twinkle is more of a approving look but with my daughter its different. Look for the twinkle in your life and make that the focus of a reason to continue your journey to health. My daughter is 10 but I have a feeling we will always have this great relationship...

3) Thanks to all my FS Buddies - I just want to take the time to thank all of you who have been following my journal. I really appreciate all your comments and any insights you guys have provided. Its invaluable to see everyone's progress and I use that as an additional impetus to keep up my diet. SO thanks to all of you!

It is great to see you doing so well! Loved this journal. You reminded me of when I was 10 and the love I felt for my mom when she walked in the door after work. I hope she saw the twinkle in my eye.:)
