Stable. Went out last night and ate badly but didn't gain extra weight...so that's good....

Morning Update:

Ok, SO last night me and a bunch of the guys went out to have a lively philosophical debate. We visited this place called Harry's which has the most yummy pizza. I decided to partake. Now, I have been good on my diet and I felt like maybe i could just let loose one night. I ate three square slices of delicious pepperoni pizza and about a pint of Magner's Cider. I didn't feel guilt at all. I did start to worry that it might cause my weight to creep up. Well, I weighed myself this morning and there was no movement. So I am happy...disaster averted.

I am lucky in that I get every other friday off...and today is my friday..I can get stuff done, take a nap and then pick up my daughter at school. Its a good day.

I find it so hard to eat right in many social situations. It seems like anytime there is something fun with a group of friends, food and drink is always at the center of it. I'm trying to think of fun things to do with friends that doesn't involve calories, but it's pretty hard to come up with things. I may journal about that tomorrow! Great not to feel guilty, you are just getting right back to it today!

Good attitude and approach--we all need to be able to socialize without feeling like we are cheating --you used moderation last night and now are back to the calorie watch today. Have a great Friday and enjoy the weekend :)

You did great - sounds like a moderate intake! And fun to be out with your buddies. Have you heard of "spiking"? It is rotating your caloric intake with a higher day once in the while, and a couple lower days once in the while. It is suppossed to keep the metabolism moving.

No, actually I have seen references to spiking but did not understand how that works, so thanks for the explanation. I will have to see if the spiking is something that I can wrap my head around. So far so good, I am glad with my progress so far. Its been a good day, I needed to relax and I did get to relax...

Yes - at the ned of my vacation week I naturally had a couple high calorie days - and then after getting right back to my usual plan, I had a satisfying weiht drop. Of course, one cannot overdo it or use it as an "excuse" to eat...but once in a while the small indulgence may stimulate the metabolism.

I screw up from time to time and exceed my calorie intake but even though it does slow my weight loss I figure that this way of eating has to be sustainable forever and it is going to happen. In the past when I tried to lose weight I had the mindset that I had to lose the weight as quickly as possible so I could go back to eating the way I did before, obviously that didn't work. So now I'm happy with a slow sustainable weight loss.
