Ok, momentary plateau. It will pass...at least I am back under 230. It's funny how a rounded number is such a psychological barrier. Next up is 220. Stomach feels flatter. Feeling good physically. Work is ok. Lots to do but I know it will get done. God help me...

I don't understand why that makes such a difference. Even if it is only .2 above it is depressing and if it is .2 under it totally makes your day. It is just a number but we give it way too much credit.

I think it has to do with a few things, First, its a boundary that has significance in that its a number that was "pierced" so that you are now on a new "level". Think of it like this...When you eat a Pie ( I am not a big Pie Guy) do you look forward to the crust or to the gooey middle. The gooey middle is what is usually the goal so the crust is that barrier. For the Psyche, the barrier is a motivational tool. Secondly, crossing a barrier is like when you travel and you hit that milestone. It shows the progress and indicates that you are on the right path. I now set my sights on the next barrier...220. Additionally, at least for me, the focus on a new barrier renews the chase for that and gives me further impetus to keep it going. So for me...my barriers were: 250 ...done 240....done 230....done 220 212 (lowest I was in a few years) 200 190 180 (my goal) If you do not set goals then you have no real focus. So that helps me. Thanks for following my journal.
