Dieting is so hard. I just...can't do it. I don't know why. I'm lacking the right motivation or something.

I asked a friend what to do, and she said to weigh myself in the morning and maintain a goal throughout the day to weigh the same at night. So that way, I would definitely have to watch what I put in my mouth during the day in order to have identical weights in the morning and night.

I haven't exercised in a couple of days either. I'm just being really impatient with the whole dieting process, which is why I keep failing. Take little steps.. Today's goal: EXERCISE!!
145.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 10.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 1.4 lb a week

Try focusing on the small things. I've only lost a couple of pounds since I started my diet, but my stomach seems to be flatter already! Every time I'm about to eat something bad, I just picture myself looking gorgeous in a bikini, and think about how for that one kitkat I could be eating 300g of carrots or something. Exercise isn't something I'm good at, but I think I'm going to start so that I can 'buy' myself treats with the spare calories I'll have. You Can do this though. Just write down everything you've eaten and look at the calorie content if you're lacking motivation, or stick a picture of how you want to look on the fridge. I hope you manage to get to 125 :)

hi, i was just reading the advice your friend gave you, but unfortunately they are setting you up to fail without knowing it. see, your body weight changes throughout the day. you actually weigh more at night than you do in the morning. off the subject, but you are actually taller in the am also...anyways, a reasonable goal to set for yourself is to try to make better choices than you normally would, exercise 30 mins each day, and throw the scale out the bathroom window..no just kidding, but when u do weigh yourself, only do it like once a week or once every two weeks. and make sure u are weighing yourself at the same time when you do it. also keep in mind that the scale only measures your weight, not what it is weighing. what i mean is that it will tell you whether or not u have lost weight, but it doesnt tell u if it is fat, water, or muscle. also, muscle weighs more than fat, so u may feel better, and ur clothes may fit better, but the scale shows an increase, it may be that u lost fat and gained lean muscle. i just try to stick to how i feel and if i feel a difference...those scales!!! however u do it, i wish you the best of luck!!!

Definitely DON'T weigh yourself everyday. I lost ten pounds last year and it seemed almost impossible at first but gradually your body will adjust. It's hard but you can do it. Keep your health and a nice figure in mind as your goal. :)

All good points. Here's another angle. "Diets" are usually thought of as a means to lose weight. However, "being healthy" is usually thought of as a type of lifestyle. And THAT'S what you want to strive for. Sure you want to lose weight, but overall you want to be healthy. When it comes to food, your daily mindset should be "I'm only eating what's best for my body today." Not, "I know I shouldn't have this piece of _______, but it's hard to resist." So I would say, focus on being healthy and that may help motivate you to do the things will help you reach your goal, such as exercising, studying about what foods are actually good for you versus what is just fad or hype, and maintaining a positive attitude about yourself. When you strive for good health, YOU WANT to eat the best foods, and YOU WANT to exercise! But if you just want to lose weight, then everyday will be a struggle with food. And life is too darn short to be worrying and freaking out about food! Trust me, you focus on your overall health and the weight will come off. But again, it's not about the weight, it's about being healthy overall. I wish you well!
