I have high blood pressure and sleep apnea, both controlled. I've been fighting weight problems all of my life. Around 2000 I went on the Adkins diet at 313lbs and got down to ~220lbs, but over the next 6 years I gained it all back. As I got older it was harder and harder to lose weight. As my family and work life got busier we shifted to almost always eating out. I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and went on a CPAP machine on May 24th, 2018. Strangely, I immediately gained ~16lbs in the following 2 weeks without any change to my diet. I recently started to try to keep under 2000 calories a day and increase my exercise. If I can lose 20-30lbs it will be easier to exercise and I'm hoping I can accelerate weight loss from there. I also noticed how much sodium I am consuming and started making an effort to lower my intake. This will help keep the water weight off and help my blood pressure. Hoping to be able to stick to it this time. I feel like if I can't get my weight under control before I turn 50 I am in serious trouble.

I'm going to start with a goal of reaching 290 in 8 weeks (roughly 35lbs). Once I get there I will set a new lower goal and add a regular fitness program.
