Sandy701's Journal, 20 July 2012

Took advantage of the "cooler" temps this AM (82-84) - both doggies and I went on a 2-mile walk. DH got the mower running last night, so I'll be mowing the front yard as soon as I finish up here. Rain/storms expected again, so I need to get moving to get it all done.

Thanks Karen. These days, I feel like such a slug if I don't get SOMETHING done in the exercise department. Plus it does really help my mood (which needs all the help it can get! LOL!).

Would love 82-84 temps, send some to the midwest, please !

Nice that you got a break from the UGH tyrant! The dogs must have really thought they were special.

Notfast...I'll send the temps, but you might get the storms, too! Then again, maybe the rain would help your foundation.

Buffy, the dogs were much happier, as I was. But, I gotta tell you, when I did the lawn, I couldn't believe how hot I got! Seems like the sweat was just running off of me. Some of that I'd expect, even in the 80's, but not THAT much! Anyway, the pool felt really good afterward. Have a nice, restful weekend.

Nope...can't do it, just can't picture you as a slug! That being said, I sure do understand you though...I feel that way too, like I just need to do something, not because I have to, but I want to. There was a time when that wasn't true, see...people can change! Walking & Talking proof we are, well for me that would hold true as long as I didn't try to walk & talk at the same time! It sure was nice of DH to get that mower going wasn't it...I know, it has to get done...but Geez, I guess that's what you get with all that rain...ours hasn't been cut in a LOOOOOONG time. BTW, it did work last time you sent rain my way...so a little more would be nice! So glad you have a pool to jump into! Last week, when we had it sooo hot too, I was thinking, Gee I sure get why so many have a pool!

It is like they say: "it is not the heat - it is the humidity".

Hey I'll take anything you want to send, even some storms if they bring rain ! Believe me I understand the "humidity" and how quickly one can just be dripping wet from sweat.

GG....I was kind of hoping DH would just go ahead and do the front yard after he got it going, but no such luck! Truthfully, I could have done it too, but was just too beat. There really is nothing like a pool when the weather gets like this and you have to work outside. Have a good weekend.

Still to Go - 0 lbs! Man! That label certainly looks great! You are "where I want to be." SIGH! I look forward to observing your strategies for maintenance! Good luck! Okay? Okay!

Oh Buffy, I know that's what everyone says but, for me, I don't do particularly well in EITHER!

Thanks W4...it DOES feel great when that one line comes up....you have achieved your goal....or some such variation. It appears where there's usually a "at this rate it will take you one millenium to reach your goal..." LOL! August 1 is when my calories and carbs will begin to come up to a stabilizing level but I'm already feeling the difficulties of increasing one's intake....primarily in FATS!! I know the basics, but somehow, the numbers don't quite add up for me. This is going to be hard - but still looking forward to this kind of challenge.
