Sandy701's Journal, 02 July 2012

Walked 3.1 miles this morning; dogs did 1.5 miles of that. UGH Index a very solid 9! The dogs and I enjoyed fairly heavy cloud cover for their portion of the walk, but the sun broke out as we were finishing up, so I "enjoyed" all the extra heat on my portion after that!

Our pool is up to 88 degrees....naturally....even in the morning! But I was so hot after the walk that even 88 degrees felt cool to me.

Working on household stuff today like getting some work done on setting up new homeowners' insurance. The old company has gone through changes and our premiums went up nearly 62% for next year for the same coverage!!! And, we've had no claims! So, obviously, THAT will never do. Our agent has scouted out some better deals for us, making sure those companies are stable enough to pay out the claims, should we ever need to file a big one.

I'm also getting my information together for my follow-up medical appointment tomorrow.

You deserve a medal for being out in this heat. Hope you can get your insurance straightened around without too much headache on your part. So you are getting information for your medical appointment - hope your doctor is ready for an education! LOL.

Will do, Notfast, will do! Went in once and may be in again before the day is over.

buffy, I felt like I deserved a medal when I got back! When the sweat comes out of one's pores on the front of one's calves, well....that's my own special indicator for "hot!!" I'm still hoping that my doctor will have some alternatives to statin-pushing, as, the more I read, the more convinced I am that they are NOT for me...PLUS, I don't think I necessarily even have a problem!

Wow, too much heat, Sandy, for both you and the dogs. Good job on getting the exercise in regardless.

Sweat is sexy. My husband once told me that a body that sweats is in good physical shape. I don't know if his observation is correct. I just know that I felt less gross and actually pretty good about sweating after he told me that. 88 degrees is just right for the pool. Enjoy!

Heather, if I waited for more moderate weather, I'd only exercise outside for maybe 3 months a year! Hey wait a minute....THAT'S an idea....LOL!

W4, I agree that 88 is just about perfect for pool water but disagree on the sexy sweat. If my DH ever said something like that, however, he'd probably get a big ol' sweaty hug from me AND....that just might be enough to change his opinion!

LOL...sooo funny! Sandy, I have been trying to catch up w/everybody, & I went back a couple journal entries so I just have to comment on your male doggie doing his man thing on your shoe...LOL, sorry, but that is still funny, one of my biggest nightmares when I take Bubba with us. I do hear you on the insurance premium leap...those greedy buggars I say! How can they justify such a large increase...oh wait, they don't have to jusitfy anything do they. With all that stress glad you have a pool to relax into!

GG, wouldn't you know it...I used an odor neutralizer on my shoe and soaked it in soapy water overnight. It was outside, exposed to all this HOT sun to dry it out....and then it really rained overnight! Soaked again! Finally got pretty dry yesterday, but I brought it inside to finish drying and to be sure it wouldn't get rained on again. These were the newer walking shoes I had just recently gotten broken in enough to do my distance walking. AAARRRGGGHHH!
