I would be skeptical about eating only 1100 calories a day...if you are going on a low calorie diet, you should try to stay at or around 1500 cal/day minimum. Should you go lower than that you risk putting your body into starvation mode, this can have a prolonged lowering effect on your metabolism. You'll lose weight effectively, however, once you get back to regular eating habits, you'll gain it all back and then some. For VLCD diet (very low calorie diet) weight loss, look into using hcg drops. They are very effective (as much or better than Atkins) if you follow the plan properly, but it is a strict regimen, not for everyone. This, however, will allow you to lose weight at a rapid rate while reseting your hypothalamus and metabolizing fat stores for caloric energy without entering starvation mode. www.hcgdietsuccess.ca
