No matter how many setbacks you may encounter, the important thing to remember is that this is your life and you need fitness and moderate eating to create and maintain a healthy body. That is why being weight-goal-oriented may be a double-edged blade -- since reaching the goal weight may lead you to believe you can relax again, lay off exercise and eat "normally." Forget that! Eating normally is for people who have ALWAYS eaten a moderate diet. If you have a weight problem, you have to change what normal is, and that means moderating your food intake forever. The sooner you accept that you will always have to watch what you eat and will always have to maintain a daily exercise routine, the sooner you will be able to spend your time living your life instead of waiting to get in shape before life begins. Losing slowly is far better than losing fast and then yo-yo-ing back again. I've been slowly taking off pounds for more than 3 years now, and the only thing that works is to KEEP AFTER IT! Log your food intake and sweat for half an hour a day, 6 days a week. You will love your strong body and the pleasure you get from wearing any old thing and looking good because you are strong and healthy.
