Sleep is good, sleep is necessary, sleep is rejuvenating, sleep is essential, sleep is nurturing, sleep is peaceful, sleep is my friend.

They say sleep is helpful to weight loss:

Sleep Study

I have been running on close to empty for about two days due to a packed schedule. I am generally observant of my time and choose not to function on too little sleep - so it is really unusual to be dreaming of sleeping during the work day! I wonder what elszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzzzzz, excuse me while a catch few zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.

Still grateful for:

- The people I love who love me back!
- The good health of my loved ones
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today
- My DH - who is my greatest "cheerleader"
- My Bengal cat companions named Bodhi and Ravi
- My work - which has meaning and worth to other human beings
- My connection to the Mother Earth and its entire splendor
- My physical health

I think you're right; sleep is important to weight loss. You're going to get it whether you do it intentionally or not. You'll either do it on your own terms, or one morning you won't hear the alarm clock, or your head will hit the desk, or worse - your car will take the path less traveled some day. I have paid the penalty, on occasion, for depriving the sleep monster of his due. It just makes a day drag if you're dragging anyway. Too much is just as bad though; got to have that balance. You're doing great HCB! Keep it up.

Sleep is essential. I miss getting 8 hours in...I have to make the time for it again. Sleep is good.

I love sleep...want more...can't live without it. Life Coach told me minimum of 7 hrs. to prevent weight gain. Tonight...8 hrs. for me. That means bed by 9 pm. We can do this!

Sleep is important and we can carve out the time for it but if it doesn't want to come, it doesn't come. I hope you aren't saying that you are having trouble sleeping because that sucks, I know. I go through phases where I just can't get to sleep. I blame it on hormones. The cooler weather helps, though, as it cools the house off nicely at night time. Enjoy some quality ZZZZ's tonight :)

Hang on there - the weekend is coming!

@evelyn64: No, I sleep fine and quite confortably - my schedule got too busy both day and evening so I just wasn"t getting as much sleep as I wanted to get...I don't know how the truly busy parents of kids work and run to activites and family obligations day in and day out! I would be exhausted.

Good to know that sleep helps with weight loss! I slept in today instead of getting up early and going to the gym.

When I don't get a restful sleep, I weigh more the next day. Weird. Get some rest.

The worse feeling in the world is sleep deprivation! UGH. Sleep is so good for you and we all deserve it. This society is so fast-paced and I hate that people look at those who sleep 8 hours a day as "weak"- I look at it as taking care of your health. BTW-what do you do for work?

A good restful sleep helps make everything more tolerable, hope you get to catch up on yours soon.:)

I can't function without at least seven hours of sleep. Take a nap...unless you are at work. They seem to frown on employees sleep on the job.
