HCB's Journal, 09 August 2012

Six consecutive days of exercise this week, so today is a "rest" day. Sometimes I just have to let the old knees rest a bit from all the squats, lunges, jumping jacks, step-ups, biking, etc. I forget I am not 30 years old anymore...geez, or even 40 years old for that matter!

My food plan is a little screwed up today due to my over-scheduled appointments. But, I will eat enough by day's end and a trip to Trader Joe's after work.

Today I am grateful for all the things on my previous lists, and especially:

-FS buddies who support and encourage me
-A day of "rest"
-The pleasant weather
-Upcoming vacation beginning two weeks from today!

Yes! Let those muscles recoop so they can further execute some butt-kickery!

Hope you are enjoying your day of rest. Bet you find some good stuff at Trader Joe's - it is my son's favorite store.

Another thing you should be grateful for: having a Trader Joe's to shop at! I've heard such good things about that store but we don't have them here in Canada :( Way to go with the 6 days of exercise! You've earned a rest. With my gradual beginnings to exercise 4 years ago to where I am now, I can do more now than I ever could - even in my teens and 20's. Our bodies have tremendous capacity to adapt. I am sure you will feel more youthful the more you exercise and the more weight you lose. All those people searching for the fountain of youth... I think it's exercise! LOL.

A day of rest is good, let those muscles recover a bit. Whats your plans for your vacation?

Goody goody vacation - do tell! Where are you off to? I think you've earned a good rest - respect your body and it won't give out on you. Um, and can I give you a little friendly poke to say it's probably time to update your profile photo? I'll bet your face has totally changed shape. Ya don't have to put on a bikini, I swear.

You know? Sometimes it is good to surprise the beautiful body a bit. Mix it up a little with these eating & exercise times. You are doing fantastic with your exercise momentum! High Five Girl!

Vacation: my best friend (for 39 years!) and her husband are coming to our home, and then the four of us will road trip through the Badlands of SD, and Cody, Wyoming and Yellowstone, the Tetons, Jackson Hole, and probably back over the Big Horn Mountains to visit the Medicine Wheel on top of Medicine Mountain - a very sacred place.

Beautiful. Yeah, I think you will want to rest up those knees for all the hiking you will probably want to do on that trip. Our knees continually remind us of the abuse we put them through when we younger!

Your vacation sounds wonderful! And you deserve a rest day, you've been working very hard. And I second that you are soooo fortunate to have a Trader Joe's. I used to shop there when I briefly lived in LA. It was heavenly - fresh, healthy food without the cost and pretense of a Whole Foods. (We are getting a Whole Foods here but I am not excited). I used to get avocados, frozen Mexican food, yogurt and stuff like vegan chocolate chip cookies from Trader Joe's. I absolutely loved it. If we had one I would be there every weekend.
