I have been eating very well for the last few weeks as the books I've read on insulin resistance have me so freaked out about my hormones and allthe dangers that can occur due to too much sugar and carbs in my body. I appear to be inulin resistant as well which has led me to have to take some medication. Its not so nice - But I really need a kick in the butt to get off the couch and start working out!!!!

I went today - so we'll see if I've got it in me tomorrow....Should be able to...just get moving...

Hi. I'm new at this game and was wondering what all books you have read. I'm a diet controlled diabetic and Atkins and South Beach cause my blood levels dip to dangerous levels. What have you experienced as far as unstable insulin counts. I know about the resistance, but what about the hormone stuff? Had hysterecomy 15 months ago and now it seems impossible to budge a pound off. Let's work together on this, if it is okay with you. I have a gym membership and have yet to go. I have to lose 115 lbs in 10 months. I need a buddy. Berlin

Hi, I have polycyctic ovaries so this shifts certain hormones out of balance - I believe paricularly progesterone, which leads to abdominal weightgain and insulin resistance. So, my blood sugar is fine, and I don't have diabetes, but my body isn't responding to insulin - There is an explanation of PCOS on www.CeMCOR.com and a lot about horemones and weight - So, I've been prescribed metformin - which is a diabetic medication to help me become sensitive to insulin and metabolise carbohydrates carefully. Yes, you should look at books on hysterectomy and hormones - I'm sure you can loose but we need to focus more on excersize than others - which is good for us anyways...
