I shopped at Costco yesterday and didn't have a definite stance on the food samples so I decided it was better to have some pizza through a couple of food samples rather than a whole pizza tempting me. I had 2 pizza bites and 1 egg roll, some dirty rice and one itty bitty cookie and two tablespoons of yogurt. I felt fine. I just won't be going back to Costco any time soon! I stocked up! I am still under control of my snacking and that's what is important. No chocolate chip cookies, no chocolate candy and no ice cream! They are drugs to me. I really want to lose ten pounds by January 31st. I have not set a goal like that in a very long time and expected to achieve it. Slow and steady even though emotions are running high here at times about my daughter trying to find a job! I feel she isn't trying hard enough. She expects us to pay her car insurance by the end of the month, I hoped we wouldn't have to do that. My short term goal is losing 2 pounds this week.

Good luck meeting your goals -both long and short term. I know what you mean about snacking at the store, I have a hard time walking past that. I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone else and shopping is a community experience that lasts for hours. Recently, though, I've taken to listening to music on my ipod while I grocery shop and it gets me in this task-focused zone and I don't snack as much. Of course, my neighbors probably think I'm completely anti-social. ;)
