mars2kids's Journal, 23 April 2012

My workouts have been non-existent the last few days. I did get out and plant my garden Saturday and did a little yardwork and housework yesterday, but no actual workout. We've got the Insanity workout to try now. My hubby wants to try to do them with me, to keep us both motivated. He said he was going to do P90X with me too, twice, and only lasted 2 days. He's not one for doing the DVD workouts, so I bet he doesn't last for this one either, but I hope he does because it will make me want to keep going.
I have been having a hard time in the mornings getting out of bed for my workouts because of getting up with the puppy. I know I'm not sleeping as well because I feel exhausted all the time. Anytime the puppy moves, I'm up making sure he doesn't need to go out, and usually he's just adjusting positions and sound asleep. It's the mommy in me coming out I guess. Oh well, eventually he'll be better with the potty training and I won't be so jumpy. I've got a 3 day weekend coming up and I'm hoping to take advantage of it and get some sleep.

I'm glad you got your work done this weekend..... I hear you on the feeling exhausted... I was wondering what if you put the puppy in the other room and get a baby monitor? or do you think it would be the same trouble? Let me know how the insanity workout goes... I'm considering borrowing a coworkers copy.

Garden in? Must be good weather there... We're cool and wet. Wish it would straighten out. We farm and, as my hubs likes to say, he has a BIG garden to get in... and the weather isn't cooperating for him either. Feels like spring is getting away. Good luck on the puppy and sleeping. :) I still get up at night with mine, but I and she both go right back to sleep after I take her out. I'm very lucky that way.

Maybe give yourself a reason to work out if the whole "I know I should" isn't cutting it. I just bought a scale and it gives me anxiety, so working out is one way for me to track my numbers. Sounds crazy to some but for those of us trying to lose weight, it MAY be helpful. I also feel the burn after I do like 20 or 25 sit ups and push ups, so something (even if it's little) helps. It's hard to go out running for me, you have to find what works for you. Good luck!
