Meals were good today and got in some excercise, so pretty decent day overall. This morning was a nice drop in weight, and instead of doing the usual and self-sabotaging, I'm going to work hard and be vigilant in conserving the loss.

Meals:
Breakfast: coffee with cream and 3 splenda (3c)
Lunch: Homemade tofu italiano (2c for tofu), with salad (0.5 for ranch)
Dinner: Pan-Fried tofu (2.5), with 2-3 small pieces of cheese (2c)
Soy milk (2c) with whey protein (2c)

Total: 14 c

Note: This afternoon after my classes, I felt a real weird feeling..like a little faint, a little like my stomach and insides were caving in...ok, sounds strange, but it was scary enough. A similar uncmfortable feeling had happened last week on day 3 or 4 of my detox, followed by an intense headache. I wonder if this is the natural part of detoxing, or if this means signs of drastic glucose or blood sugar drop? Anyhow, it was so disorienting, I felt nervous to drive and get on the road with my head feeling so discombobulated. I somehow got home, made a quick snack of fried tofu--ate half, and then a little later went and worked out, and then came back and finished the rest of the tofu and a protein shake...after that I was feeling fine!

Exercise: Elliptical (30 mins, 200 calories), Bike 30 mins, 7.5 miles, 150 calories. Bicep curls with 8-12 pounds, 15 reps each, 3 sets.

Morning update on the continued saga or weird symptoms:
As I start to get my weight entering territories that are relatively new for it, and as my induction is half-way complete, my body is showing daily uneasy, new feelings. Today I feel heavy-hearted, nauseous even, like there's too much acidity or something. I can't even stomach beyond half of my starbucks coffee--very rare indeed! Normally, I'd have had two cups by now!! Well, it should be interesting to see what new discomforts reveal themselves...I'll objectively view them, muse over them...but not let them deter me off my course!!

Blood sugar levels can drop after Atkins long-term I PERSONALLY believe. I had four small pieces of pizza and like seven hours later at the emergency room my blood sugar was 71, not that low but pretty low. If there's a cure for diabetes it's low carb dieting but nobody that is diabetic wants to do it, many got that way from overeating the carbs and especially the sugar that usually made them overweight. If you're really feeling ill on Atkins or any other diet having some fruit juice and restarting might help. Atkins is a good way to go, I just found it too restrictive after 2 1/2 years. Good luck...
