Hi Cassandra! I've been yo-yo dieting most all my life! My mom was a yo-yo dieter so even at a very young age I was either on a diet or off a diet with my mom! I've lost as much as 80lbs (after I had my kids) and gone up and down with 40lbs on a pretty routine basis. You might as well have told me that I needed to lose 500lbs because that's probably what I've lost if you count all the times I've gone up and down!!!! Sometimes it does get frustrating and you comfort yourself with old habits (food!). I would think that after having your gallbladder removed you might be going through a bit of an adjustment period with your body right now anyway and feeling a bit uncertain. Are you doing the WW plan? Are you attending meetings, or online, or just following the plan? I go to the meetings because I need the accountability of facing someone at the end of the week at the scale! For ME just having the scale "master" is worth the $9/week I pay with the pass. All the support and encouragement during the meetings is just icing on the cake so to speak! HOWEVER, I've found myself referring this website to friends at my WW meetings, because the food tracking and the journals are such a great format here! AND it's easy to get plugged in with some buddies for motivation! I've found that when it feels like a "team effort" I'm more motivated than when I feel like I'm going at it alone. I get excited when I see other people doing well, and it makes me want to do well too! AND when others are not doing so well it helps me realize that I'm not the ONLY one who struggles, and that actually helps me too!! :-) One thing that really helps me keep my motivation level up is instead of looking at the full amount of weight you have to lose, break it up into small more manageable numbers and set little mini goals and rewards for yourself!!! If you break it up into 2-10lb increments, and rewards for the milestone amounts, you can focus on just getting to that next milestone and reward!!! It seems alot more "DOABLE" when your just focused on those 5lbs (or whatever you've set for yourself) and then when you get there you have a SUCCESS to celebrate!!! Having lots of mini successes really keeps me motivated!! Maybe if you set your mini goals and get them down in writing and what the rewards will be, you might find that it clicks on your motivation! :-) I'm happy to help be part of your motivation too!!! I'll pop in over here and see how you're doing! :)
