Finally retired from a very sedentary job. The way I took care of my physical body was a small part of the decision. Will I do better now???
My shifts were changing every three months. Sometimes the shift would be split. I sat on my butt all day long. Eating times constantly changing. I seemed to be always tired, perhaps from carrying around an extra thirty pounds, and seemed incapable of committing to an exercise routine.
WILL IT BE DIFFERENT NOW????
Time will tell.
My first decisions starting this week are to log my food intake as best I can. Walk 36 holes of golf every week when possible. Practice on the golf range for 45 minutes twice a week when possible. Play tennis with my wife three times a week barring any other scheduled committments. I will schedule these as a routine but be gentle on myself if occasionally I fail. Why? I want this to be a lifestyle, lifetime deal and not just a temporary quick fix.
