Walking usually means at a 31/2-41/2 mile an hour pace. Regular activity and walking around would not be listed as walking. It might help to wear a Fitbit to determine how active you really are. Hope this helps.

FS has a variety of walking speeds you can use .. the lowest intensity being "walking slow - 2 mph." If you are using the exercise log to try to monitor your calorie deficit, then you probably should add it. But note that FS's RDI already factors in its estimate of the calories you burn in your daily activities, and if you specified your activity level as "active", it already assumes that you don't sit around much at work: Active – minimal sitting and/or resting and may work in an environment requiring standing and/or some physical work. Regularly perform moderate exercise, such as dancing, brisk walking or swimming. Entering activities in your exercise log won't change the RDI.

I think 8 hours slow walking is right to replace your work. Even if you were standing from time to time is fine because you were climbing the ladder which is harder than just slow walking.
