diehard3's Journal, 29 September 2017

I can't remember who suggested it, but the rubber band on my wrist is an effective reminder that I am not as hungry as I think. All is going well and I feel a lot better about myself. Bowling last night wasn't so great, but at least we won and I am satisfied.
I broke down and got on the scale and found that I have gained 4.5 pounds since I went on a trip September 12. When I know I haven't been sticking to my diet plan, I tend to avoid the scales because I don't want to see a gain, but I had to start somewhere so I jumped on this morning and got the bad news. It came as no surprise.
Now I can take care of business and be focused on losing and not so focused on my over active appetite.

We all have those days where we slack a bit on the diet. The idea is just hop back on and keep up the good work. You are doing great.

I think it was Chesgreen who offered the rubberband idea. I have used that idea for several "reminders" of other bad habits and it does work! For me the times I do pay attention to the scale is when I've not been following my WOE. It acts sorta like a rubber band. You can do this!

Friday was a good day for me. I checked in regularly to Fatsecret and took note of the encouraging words. It does help stay focused when you hear from others who are trying to accomplish the same goals. Many times I have agonized over "Why am I the one who was born with a very sturdy build?" I have 2 sisters who were/are petite, and one sister who is like me, sturdy. The sturdy comes from my mother's side of the family. I know there are petite people who wish they were as tall as me and my sister. BTW, we both like to eat!!!
