mariahgem's Journal, 02 March 2010

So today I know I'm probably going to go over my calorie allowance. For the first time in probably 10 days. It's sad, but I figured I should track a reason to hold myself somewhat accountable as well as so I could look back and see why.

I had 2 things today that usually put me over anyway: I had a long day at school (over 8 hours of hard work, which generally drains me, and makes me a lot hungrier) and also I worked out. Today was day 2 of my 30 day challenge and I got up at 6 am to do my 158 cal workout! (That's a lot of cals burned for a usual WiiActive session!) And back when I did the 30 Day Challenge last time, after a while of doing it, I would get ridiculously ravenous! I think it's because of building all that muscle!

So I have 2 pretty good reasons for if I go over my cal allowance today! I don't feel bad about it. And I'm not going to let it stop me. Staying with it is the mark of true power, not letting a little thing set me back. :)

I'm still going to try to eat around ~1400 cal today, but if I go over, no harm done.

No need to feel bad for having gone over a bit today, you can always balance it out tomorrow or over the next couple of days. I like to "pay" for my excesses as quickly as possible. Keep up the good efforts Maria!

It's sounds like you have a great attitude towards this whole "dieting" thing! A couple of higher calorie days (and really it wasn't that high at all) here and there isn't too big of a deal especially when you're exercising. I've even heard people say it's good for your metabolism to have high days now and then, although I don't if it's true, but it kind of makes sense...
