Good Morning!
I just looked at the nutrition facts on the back of a honeybun. That thing has 76 grams of carbs! I don't like them but a co-worker had it for breakfast this morning along with a 20oz orange juice!
I'm doing ok on my diet, I am feeling bad about induction only lasting a few days though. I can only look forward and give it another shot. Christmas is creeping up on me guys! I'll be ok. I am mentally ok with all this dieting stuff....If that makes any sense.
Have a great day and stay focused on what's real!

I think when you view this as a lifestyle change and not a temporary diet you have a much greater chance of success. If you view it as temporary and lose the weight you want then go back to your old eating habits, guess what? You'll be right back where you were to begin with. The coworker with the honeybun and oj has their lifestyle and you have yours. I believe that finding low carb alternatives to our favorite holiday fare can really help you make it through the holidays. The Atkins website is a great place to start looking for recipies. Good luck...you CAN get through the season!!

You know, Mandie, you can't really expect to succeed at this if you allow yourself so many cheat days during induction. You must commit to this for a longer period of time to see any results. I am really concerned for you because the Atkins menu is not healthy if you don't reduce your carbs. You might be doing more damage than good by these spurts of dieting. Maybe you should reconsider your approach. Let me know if I can help.

Sara, Thanks for the advise, but please don't concern yourself with my dieting habits. I'm not trying to be sarcastic but, if anybody knows how to do The Atkins Diet, it's me. I know that I am not doing Atkins correctly, anybody can see that I am not doing this diet correctly. Also, I am full aware of what starting and stopping any diet will do to a person mentally and physically. Save all that precious energy for someone who really needs it. Thanks again for your concern. By the way, you are doing great with Atkins! Keep up the good work!

Mandie--hang in there--we are all far better off with our self-awareness than we were before we learned the horrible news that we were 'carb sensitive'! (sort of kidding) We actually probably DO have some sort of sensitivity that others (that I am incredibly jealous of, including my wonderful husband) who can eat that bun and OJ with no apparent negative effect. Oh well, we all have to carry our own burdens and there ARE worse ones. The most powerful thing is that you know that when you want to do this, you have the knowledge to do so. How many people go through life just thinking there is something fundamentally wrong with their will power or their character and never realize they have a different metabolism than naturally thin people. Enjoy Christmas!!!!!!

Mandie girl.... We have sooooo much in common, LOL. We can do this, I know! I pick out an outfit yesterday that I need to lose about 5 pounds to look better in it... so that is motivating me right now. Seems like if I could just go buy something everyday.. I'd want to lose faster! Actually, I used to that (shhh.. don't tell my hubby). I would buy clothes out the butt and it would actually work like a "diet pill" for me. I'd get all that stuff and wouldn't want to eat bc I was too excited about looking hot in all my clothes... now I'm fatter and it isn't as fun. I think my butt has grown as well as my stomach but my boobs have too so the hubby likes that, LOL.. If I could keep the boobs half the butt and lose the stomach, I'd be alright! ;)
