Ok I have one question - I haven't bought the SB book just yet (I will in a few hours!) but I was wondering - can I have 1 glass of diet coke (my only vice!)???? What can I drink?? (Other than H20?)

Diet drinks are fine! I just would limit the amount of intake! Water is best, but anything diet and coffee/tea is ok...All sugar free ofcourse :)

I don't think it's advisable (don't remember the specifics of whether it's allowed, someone else will reply), but I did things like this without it affecting my weight loss. To a certain point SBD implies the flexibility to "do your own thing," up to a point. I think a diet coke would be within limits, personally. I can't say that having things like Diet Coke didn't affect my health though, probably adversely. Good luck Skinnysoon! :-)

I have drank diet sodas all thooughout this diet and been fine. I don't drink a lot of them, but usually one a day. People have said that they can cause sugar cravings from the artificial sweeteners. But I am like you, drinking my diet coke is like a smoker having that cigarette!! Oh so good!!

I always thought diet coke was okay - or Coke Zero - but as mentioned by other members, water is best (best with a hint of lemon juice for detox purposes). I have tried the Weightwatchers sparkling water - grapefruit and lime, which is a pleasant change and very refreshing especially after exercise (dont know if you can get them over in the USA though, that's the only thing).... Any way, good luck, Skinnysoon! I can also recommend the South Beach Diet Quick & Easy Cookbook by Dr Agatston, it has some lovely recipes, from snacks, soups, main meals to cakes mmmm! It comes in very handy when entertaining!

i have never had problems with diet...anything. Sometimes a carbonated beverage hits tht spot. i buy sugar free koolaid (grape flavored) or crystal light and make a pitcher of it. next, i fill a glass up with water and add a bit of the juice to flavor it. ALOT cheaper than the flavored water and alot better to me than the flavored drink because if made "per instruction" I think that they need to be diluted a bit. Be careful with anything other than water because it is all loaded with foreign additives, colors, and flavors...

I found that I LOVE Crystal Light. Like you, I was like, Oh wow, what can I drink now. LOL I really really like Crystal Light, my favorite is the pink lemonade.
