dameons kitty's Journal, 21 January 2010

Today I bought a food journal & a jump rope. I have been writing everything down in my journal then transfering it to here at night. I spent 5 mins jump roping (boy did that get my heart rate pumping), & I weighed my food out so my logged info was as close to what I really ate as possible. I also found out that my calorie intake should be my weight x 7. This brings me from 1800 calories down to 1600. Hopefully this will help.

Hi Kira! Hope you're keeping yourself "in the game"...I caught up on your journal over the last couple weeks and saw that you have been bummed about your friend not joining in to help be a support. And you are right, having someone in your "face" world to be supportive is often a very strong encouraging force. But I think it's safe to say that having "face" world support is often difficult because so many people have conflicting schedules and lives and motivation. All the advice you got on your last entry was spot on. To recap: find your motivation - WHY do want to lose weight and have the coke bottle figure you used to have? When you can pinpoint your WHY, no matter what anyone else does or DOESN'T do, you will keep with your goal no matter what, because there will be ups and downs. Is your why to be healthy? To feel better about your self? To feel sexier? Anyway, you get the point. Also: use this website consistently (which you are already doing). And you came up with a great solution to your problem of coming on here frequently by getting a journal (I TOTALLY understand the issue of getting your time sucked up on here...it's very addicting!). When I am tracking food, I do the same thing...I write it all down then enter it all when I have time in the eve/nite. And use this community, Kira. We're all in the same situation as you are...we get what you are going through. Your friend is just not there yet. But we are. And we will support you. If you let us. And I hope you do! Congrats on yout weight loss, too! All I have done is gain weight since I have been in Hawaii :o) oh well, it's worth it for now!

Stephanie...it also said in the book that I got that info that when your weight changes so should your calorie intake. I wouldn't do it for every pound that you lose but maybe every 20 pounds...
