Wanna try Banting. But does it involve weighting every item one eats?
Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

NankeS, I found that banting works better if you weigh and count the calories you are consuming. Often its easy to eat high fat without considering its total calorie content. Have you tried just low carb (less than 50g per day) and maybe 16:8?

Banting works well and most people end up feeling fuller for longer because of their higher protein consumption and this causes one to eat lower than their RDI on most days. Calorie counting whilst doing banting will make it more effective rather than just hoping to consume lesser calories. Banting with the 16:8 rules will make it easier.

Fasting for 16 hours, followed by eating for the remaining 8hours of the day. Basically skipping breakfast till 12:00 and then eating normally/banting/diet till 8pm. It's called intermitted fasting. Google it. Real fascinating!!

Skinny Maringa has explained it perfectly. I just want to add that you can drink liquids like water, green tea, coffee(no sugar but can use sweetener with minimum milk), sugar free cooldrink during the 16 hours of no food. Google is your friend :)

Another thing, say I'm planning on workout out at 9 in the morning. Isn't it better to eat before an workout and eat protein after a workout like a USN Whey Protein shake? Should I just exercise later the day after 12?

NankeS there are loads of benefits to fasted training. Everyone will have their own preferred method to when to consume food whilst training. Personally I time my workout at gym for around 10am to 12 midday and then break my fast with a protein shake after my workout. I find that my training is more focused in a fasted state. I actually go 40 hours with no food and gym sessions on both those days. Ease into it. Lower the intensity the first week or so and see how you adapt to training without eating in the morning. One of the biggest problems with eating in the morning is that it triggers hunger wheras eating from midday helps you consume lesser food.

NankeS, like BigBoy says: ease into it. I sometimes run at 5AM and the 1st time doing it while fasting, it got me super down. But now after some while in getting used to it, I can easily go for my morning run and only eat at 12PM. It takes some time getting used to it. I read an article the other day on exactly that: building muscle and recovery muscle in fasted state. Also google it. You'll be pleasantly surprised!!
