Day 12 of SBD and I'm down 7 pounds. I feel pretty good about that, am thinking that I'll stay in Phase 1 for a total of three weeks rather than 2. I have so much further to go! I'd be curious to hear if others have decided to stay on phase 1 longer and how it worked out.

I've been faithful to the diet so far. Only one small lapse, I let myself drink a beer the other night to celebrate our purchase of a new house. Only drank 1/2 of it though, it started to seem like the drink wasn't worth breaking the diet for! Kind of funny. The kids keep tempting me, though, with their juice and fruit and cookies and crackers and such. Today we made brownies for them and, although I didn't have any, the smell was killing me. Sigh.

Have been ok with my exercise, but not as much as I'd like. My work is very busy right now, but next week will be much better. I teach at a university and it's finals week --after this things calm down a lot and I'll be able to work out more regularly. I have been doing taekwondo, which is good, but it's hit or miss whether the classes will be good workouts.

It's exciting to see progress on my weight!
163.0 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 23.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I stayed on Phase 1 for almost a month. I was excited by the progress I was making, and since I had gotten past the bad, craving part, it wasn't a sacrifice. I had to start back on some grains & bran to make my bod start functioning properly, and I have a couple of carbs a week, but I still am more strict than a traditional Phase 2. After reading others' comments and journals, I'm a little afraid to try to reintroduce anything else. I really need to lose the weight, and as long as I'm getting the nutrients I need, I think I'll stay on my personal version of the plan. Congratulations on your success! I'd say stick with Phase 1 until it starts to feel too restrictive. Enjoy!
