I read a buddy's journal about taking a bike ride and I remembered my hubby's bike was ready and waiting for me to use...I hopped on it yesterday and rode 5 miles! Out of the valley it is uphill and with the wind, coming back its downhill but against the wind. NOT BAD! I felt great. I worked some muscles i have not used in awhile, and I felt stronger and more energetic all day! My hips really benefited as they were less stiff and I'd say the night pain was reduced 50%! Luckily, I have bike path areas paved around a golf course or along the subdivisions that sprung up along the valley road, so I don't have to ride with vehicular traffic! I think I am heading out for even a longer ride today! Still planning my day in my head... HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!

Oh, I envy those of you who have safe bike paths to ride. In my area, we do have groups who ride competitively but they ride in large groups for safety -- from dogs, traffic, etc. Since I don't have the ability or desire to ride competitively, that pretty much cuts out biking for me. That's OK, just have to find other exercise outlets.
