Think I've finally got my maintenance calorie level figured out - looks like it's around 3150 or so. If that's true, my BodyMedia Fit was overestimating by about 6.5% - which is within the 10% margin of error.

It also means I was dramatically undereating when I was at 1800-2000/day, and thought my maintenance level was at 2500. Every time I'd move up to 2500, I'd mistake the water weight gain for body fat. That was my mistake.
But since Sep. 10, I've been logging everything meticulously. The first 10 days after that I was around 3100/day. Then I was up to about 3400-3500 / day for about a week, and then back down to 3100 since.

In that time, I held mostly steady, went up by about a pound or 1.5, when I was at 3500, and then steady again since moving back down to 3100.

So the guessing game may be over, finally. I'll give it another 10 days and see!

In the meantime, I'm still enjoying nightly Ben & Jerry's for dessert - killed about 6 pints in the last few weeks, and the scale is at exactly the same spot it was on Sep. 10. I guess I have the BMF to thank for helping me get my diet on track, finally. Feels good to eat again.
