OVERHAUL: I had to overhaul my whole approach to weight loss. After two years of doing LCHF I can not stop the continued climb of my cholesterol. It was 179, now its 265. My PHd is not happy with me at all.

So I have ceased eating ample fat, hardly any at that. But with fat out of the picture and my weight slow climbing back on.. I have found some hope in plant based. I am very interested in fruitarians. I've been watching videos on it. I feel excited to switch gears and try something completely new and different for a change.

I start Saturday.

Day 1 as will be most day mono-meals. Bananas, strawberries, And not sure what to do for dinner yet. I want to keep it mono-meals and one day a week have a cooked dish with veg and rice.

My new start weight sadly is 231. I look forward to seeing what day 30 rings in on the scale.

I'm excited.

Good luck to you . I find changing up my eating plans helps from time to time. I haven't had blood work done in a year and I think my cholesterol should be lower too, I'll have to keep aware of that. I was able to lower mmine 24 points in 6 weeks by eating 3/4 cup of oatmeal twice a day...maybe this could work for you?

We've each got to find what works for us that we can maintain and be healthy with it. I hope your new plan does that for you.

New research has found that it is NOT fat that causes your cholesterol to rise- it is inflammation in your body that your system creates cholesterol to "bandage" over those areas....maybe you have a food or systemic allergy that you don't know about? There is a lot of research going on now- maybe internet search it? I hate to see anyone put on meds that they can avoid! :-)

perhaps investigate Vegan? or Raw Vegan these may be more balanced than fruitarians and are the veg +fruit versions of what you seek. Here is a site "Beautiful on Raw.com" …free videos!

Non1953 My cholesterol went up after my 2 year journey of LCHF. There is no doubt in my mind the increase in cholesterol is directly related to my high fat intake. I'm shockingly looking into going Vegan Bellcurvz.. still educating myself at the moment.

You'll figure it out.

By the way. Do some research before you let the doctor put you on statins. There's a lot of good info out there that doctors are ignoring.

There is no one way to eat that is 'the' way...have you ever read 'Diet Cults'?

I'm not sure about your cholesterol numbers..... some Phds do NOT understand that it's NOT the singular number, but the ratio. As long as you are running 3/1 (or better 4/1) then you are good regardless of what the dr. says. Try doing a little research and asking your practitioner to look it over for you.... you might both get to do the happy dance :) It took me a little over a year to get my Dr. to even look at it, but when he did, he agreed that the LCHF /cholesterol ratio was more than adequate for me to continue this way of life. REGARDLESS of what you choose, I wish you the best!
