Good Afternoon, FS Warriors!

I trust everyone is having a wonderful day. I have been extremely busy, although I don't have a lot to show for it. We had our Nazarene District Assembly this weekend. It started Friday evening and commenced again Saturday morning. Although a good deal of time was spent going over numbers of various churches across the District, the District Supervisor made it very interesting, relating some pretty heart warming stories. The best part though was the speakers. I love listening to a gifted speaker and there is no lacking of them in Nazarene Church Leadership positions. I finished my 3rd course in the Ministry Preparation Program and I have a week off before my next class. I've already started studying the books for the next class though.

I finally got the church software program customized for our church and finished populating it with data. I meet with the Church Treasurer again about an hour before the Board Meeting to help her explain in her report what we have accomplished. I typed up a cheat sheet to help her get through it. She isn't an experienced accountant or a treasurer; that is the one reason that I wanted to put together a software program that did not require a lot of expertise once it was configured for our particular church. She has a good attitude, and that's what is important; I didn't want her to get discouraged and quit.

Back to the District Convention. Of course there had to be dining before and after. We went to Avanti's Friday night. Avanti's is an Italian restaurant. I think it's a franchise, but I don't know how many states they extend to. I chose what I thought was the least caloric: penne noodles and sausage in marinara sauce. OK, maybe not the least caloric on the menu. :) However, it wouldn't have been bad at just that, if I hadn't had so much of the complimentary bread. They kept bringing the little sweet bread rolls, and of course, we put the olive oil and Parmesan cheese in the dish to dip the bread in. So, to make a long story short, I am not beyond temptation, and I was not beyond indulging, so this will be a rough week - compensating for my indiscretion. Perhaps gluttony is the more appropriate word. Saturday morning - biscuits and gravy. There is just something about an event that brings out the worst in me. Maybe I should stay home. Nah; what fun is that! Adapt, improvise and overcome! It's a war. I'm in it to win it! Nobody said it was easy.

Hope everyone has a great week. Toodles!

It sounds as if you are into comfort foods DK. I hope you haven't added more stress to your plate ... (I made a pun). Hugs!
