Panigale1199's Journal, 11 April 2016

This weekend I weighed in at 150. A weight I haven't seen in months.
So in total I lost 12 lbs since the beginning of my whole30. I think I am on the right track. I just have to stay focused

This weekend I had some treat meals.
Saturday- I had some zebra popcorn my boyfriend just had to buy. The rest of the day I ate paleo and worked out
Sunday- 2 treat meals- Breakfast I made paleo pancakes topped with fresh strawberries. I also had 3 eggs and 2 slices bacon. I had a small paleo friendly lunch. Dinner I made chicken spinach pizza with vodka sauce on a paleo friendly crust.

I now decided if I am going to treat myself on Sundays the treat will be paleo friendly. I am avoiding all bad grains from my diet.

I know some people say... "If I am going to have a muffin or a cupcake I will just eat the real thing"

Problem I see it as- 1. Wheat today is addictive as cocaine. It is so genetically modified and cross bread to be horrible for our health and the effects on our body is horrible. Also the addictive properties in real wheat just makes you consume more of it.

To me? This does NOT make me want to cheat with the "real thing" if anything I find the paleo version the "real thing" Better ingredients and not processed.

Also I find that I enjoy my paleo treats more than the regular version because I
A. Dont feel like utter crap afterward
B. I dont feel guility treating myself to better ingredients.

Happy Monday all!

Thank you for all the sharing you've done on your Whole30. That's a nice loss! Perhaps more important is what you learned about yourself in the process.

THanks! Yes you realize you learn more about your body in the process. Its great to understanding how to work with your body and not against it!

Ugh I made muffins w wheat bran and wheat flour and they were gross. Whole grain or wheat waffles and English muffins and bread is on my list (one waffle or one 1/2 muffin counts as one carb. I don't crave any lol. I must not have the gene to be addicted to wheat! Anyway, you're doing great!! I was 150-160 last year made it to 138 in nov and by Jan back up to 147ish today I'm 122 and feel great! It took some time but that's all I got! You can do this :-)

Hey Misty! I usually make my paleo pancakes/ waffles with coconut flour, arrowroot and almond flours. I am trying to see if giving up all wheat (even with cheat meals) really helps how my body has been reacting. SO far without any wheat I am not getting tender joints and headaches. I am thinking the wheat gluten has something to do with it. Yes and some people are not as addicted as others! I never really was addicted to wheat itself. I never cared for bread. But I do love pizza! And thanks I really hope to get to 140ish. But my main concern is getting my BF% to about 17% even if I end up weighing a little more than I expect. I do a lot of lifting. So I am focusing on BF. I really hope to get down ! I really want to be confident in wearing shorts this summer

Wow you are doing so well. Have you found you a new bike yet?

I will try to get a pic soon! I do have a good before pic that got me really getting my butt into shape. @HCB- i tried them once! But if I use wraps I make them homemade- there is a good paleo crepe recipe and to make them a wrap you omit the honey. They are good I use them for tacos! @Rockiesfan I still have my triumph speed 4. But I plan to save for either a ducati or BMW bike in the next few years. I want to save up enough money so I can atleast put half or 3/4 of the cost down
