warrenwinter's Journal, 23 February 2016

Well, it's a gorgeous day in Cali, and best of Tuesday to all! My biopsy is scheduled for St. Pattie's Day. My wife's brother is in our prayers with brain surgery today. We are both down with colds, and can't visit him. Take care of your health first, it is what is most important.

Warren's Diet Tip of the Day: Many celebrities have advocated taking HGH, human growth hormone, but there's not much study on the long term effects. Use these techniques to build it naturally in your body; 1) Sleep-HGH is produced while sleeping.2)Intermittent Fasting-increases HGH by 1300% in women, and 2000% in men.3)L-Arginine- an essential amino acid, find it as a supplement. It promotes the release by the pituitary gland.4)Avoid sugar after exercising- Sugar will ruin your workout, no recovery drinks, it shuts down HGH.5)Melatonin-it spikes HGH by 157%. Find this supplement.
These are said to recapture your youth! Good luck!

Hey Warren, I've started using a protien supplement for part of my morning meal, it also has a bunch of necessary Branched Chain Amino Acids in the package. It is very simple to use, tastes OK and satisfies my hunger for the morning without adding a lot of calories. I think it has helped with some fat loss although I really only added it to protect my muscles a bit from some my higher calorie expenditure days (endurance training) and increase my % ratio of protien in my daily diet.

Hey thanks everyone for the thoughtful, thoughts, I appreciate it. We will all be fine. Hey Steven, maybe you are quite a bit younger than me. The protein I think works best with the young guys, but I will tell you, my neighbor was taking too much protein, as he was in his forties, and told me he had to pass a gall stone. When I told my wife, she said tell that guy to get off the high protein. So I did. I mean, I'm not a doctor, but a bit of protein supplement, that's OK.

You bet Warren, totally agree on not overdoing the protein...My daily average over the last 7 months has ranged from 21% to currently 28% with fats and carbs in the 30% - 40% range each. I'm not real young, sort of mid-young or mid-old at 55, 56 in a few months...I was pretty active though prior to my ruptured disk a week ago.

Funny, I have never admitted it on here, but I am 65. As long as you aren't strictly protein, which you obviously aren't, you will be fine. You look good, and keep the diet faith there, my friend.

Thanks for the great info on generating natural HGH. All of those are doable and are good for health in more ways than one. I also recall that building muscle also helps?

My prayers are with you and your family !!! May health and healing occur !! I am a 6 year breast cancer survivor, and HGH would be a death sentence to me. It spikes your estrogen from your pituitary gland..No way getting around a good diet and exercise..

Thanks all of you, and thank you Maggie for that info. There are always two sides to everything we ingest.
