I've been off Atkins for awhile, which was wrong, but I was feeling pretty down. This week I start a new job...finally full time and benefits after looking for 16 months and working a part time low paying job. That means I can go to the doctor and hopefully find out what's wrong with my knee. Once that pain is gone, I'll be able to do more exercise. Of course with a better mood, I'll want to exercise more too.
It's interesting that while off Atkins, all my health issues have returned. I don't mean to be too graphic, but I think there's a big problem with my issue. Years ago, I was diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It had gotten so bad, that I was taking Imodium every day, and sometimes it didn't even help. I had terrible cramping, urgency issues, nausea at times, and some days my sniffles, sneezes and congestion would kick in just for fun.
Imagine my surprise when I went on Atkins and every symptom stopped as if someone had thrown a switch, then I go off Atkins and they are back. I have done other experiments and I am 99% sure that I have a much more serious wheat allergy than I suspected since even the sniffle symptoms are indicative of that allergy. Add to it, a little lactose intolerance, and I was feeling awful. The problem is that after working in medical records, I saw a lot of patient's records where they were having the same issues, and the doctors never looked at food allergies. I know this is true for me...I don't know if it's true for anyone else...but if you're suffering my symptoms, you may want to ask your doctor about allergies. I can't wait to see the doctor and insist on an allergy consult. As well as an MRI to see why my knee is swollen and sore.

Yes and thank you. I certainly do know how lucky I am. I live in a difficult situation and desparately want to move...soon I'll be able to. Believe me, I say thank you every day.
