crabby Kat's Journal, 06 December 2015

Got in a car accident 11/27/15. I wasn't badly injured, but I hurt all over. My ribs on the right side were all elevated, my lower back / pelvis was all up slipped and rotated; thank goodness I have an excellent physical therapist. I had to go see my surgeon in order to make sure my knees were okay, and to get physical therapy orders.

I gained 4 pounds in the following week; emotional & comfort eating, and I can't do Zumba or Pilates for weeks, once again.

I've weathered these storms so far, and will make it through this one.
127.3 lb Lost so far: 74.7 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

It's a WAR between you and FOOD, don't let the food WIN the WAR

Food is not just calories, it's information. It talks to your DNA and tells it what to do. Food is fuel for my body. If I was a car, I wouldn't be putting sugar in my gas tank. It's my emotions that I have an issue with, not food. I was taught very young that food = comfort, caring, etc. I grew up and learned that good healthy foods in moderation = a strong and healthy body that enjoys being active. I just need to remember that when I'm injured, when it hurts like when I was young and my mom would kiss it & make it better, and hand me a cookie. I do make wonderful healthy, nutritious cookies, but I tend to eat a few too many when I really am in pain, both physically and mentally.

OMG - so sorry to hear that but glad you are okay. Hope that the knees are okay. Emotional eating - yep, you're not alone. If it wasn't for that I'd be as slim as you. I'm sure you'll get back on track ASAP. It's been a very emotional time for you lately with the passing of your partner's mother. Thinking of you and wishing you well and speedy recovery. Hugs. At least they are calorie free :)
