Here is an interesting article I read about is it necessary to drink 8x8oz of water a day. It is about a professor of Physiolgy at Dartmouth College, who say no and why.

Congrats! You are doing AWESOME! Yeah I always thought drinking all that water wasn't really as dire as people make it out to be. :)

this is true, but be wary of water intoxication. It is very dangerous, and I know someone who died of it. If you are an athlete or strenously working out for any extended period, something with electrolytes is better than water.
