2/3 way for radiation for a tumor on the spine which crushed T6 vertebrae. Husband doing all the cooking and doing a wonderful job - I will never lose weight with his diet - but all I can do is try and urge him to give me smaller portions. And he tries! But, he know what I am going thru and the pain I am in and he wants to treat me! If I can hold my own for another few months - I may be in luck for having to do more exercise than I have been able to do in two years!
244.0 lb Lost so far: 2.0 lb.    Still to go: 59.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Good plan to eat just smaller portions. Maybe your Dr.'s will let you do some PT when you are better and that will help with weight, fitness and pain. What do they plan to do for the T6 vertebrae? I'm so sorry you have to go through this and will keep you in my thoughts for a full recovery.

Will see the medical oncologist when the radiation is done - there may be bone building shot that will help - beyond me how they could repair a crushed vertebrae - but, we'll see. The worst pain is from one rib which the tumor dislocated and nothing can be done to fix that until radiation is done either! Thank you for the good thoughts!!!!!

I certainly hope they have something to help. Rib injuries are so very painful and really no way to brace them or keep them immobile. My mother had a collapsed disc and they did a small incision, then injected a cement like substance to inflate the disc again. There is a lot of technology out there, but first you have to finish this treatment and recover.

Thanks so much for the support Horseshu1 - It really helps. My throat is beginning to react to the radiation and that puts me on a soft diet - so, sure, creamed soups etc. But, I can use any soup and puree it - so it can be beneficial to low calorie meals after all! :)

Do you have a "emulsifier"? That could deliver some really healthy low calorie meals for you!
