I am going to Mexico City with my boyfriend on the 31. That leaves me with 11 days before the trip.

Goal: lose 1lb a day to get to 150 before the trip.

Realistic? Probably not but I'm up for a good challenge. I find when I push myself and have these small goals I work my hardest. I have been lazy and haven't done any exercise for a while so I'm going to start up again today, I have the Insanity dvds which literally make you want to cry, but they have a 2 month schedule to follow and since I will be away for a week I don't want to start and stop them.

I have decided to do my Jillian Michaels dvds, shes tough and I have had good results with them in the past. Also, I have decided to begin running again, I found a great runners schedule to follow online that is for beginners.

Wish me luck!

1 lb a day is pretty difficult. That is 3,500 calorie deficit per day. You'd have to eat your BMI, AND burn 3,500... I don't know how you would do it.

Difficult yes, and there is a good chance I wont accomplish it, but I'm in the mood to aim high, and the worst that happens is that I don't lose all of it, but I lose a good amount.

I won't say it's not possible; I lost 11 pounds in my first week on Slim Fast and another 5 pounds the second week. I don't think that was real, though. I think my body was retaining a lot of water when I was overeating and during those first two weeks, I think a lot of the loss was actually water loss. After the first two weeks I've been averaging between 1-2 pounds a week. And that didn't change whether I was eating 1200 or 1900 calories a day. In fact, after a month at 1200 calories, I stopped losing altogether, probably because my body thought I was starving and my metabolism slowed to a crawl. I raised my calorie level on the advice of the Slim Fast nutritionist and I've been losing steadily since. My rate of loss didn't change when I went back to the gym and started getting a lot more exercise. I've gained a lot of muscle, but since muscle weighs more than fat, it's kind of a push. My advice is to aim at getting into the 150s before your trip and be happy with whatever loss you get. BTW, I went to Mexico City a few years back -- loved it!

I've done it in short bursts, but it's no picnic... with my 2300BMI, no more than 800 calories consumed in a day, plus 3+ hours intense cardiovascular exercise at roughly 600kcal/hour (elliptical, jogging and biking). I wish you the best of luck!

Babyweight: the Insanity dvds are amazing! They definitely are the hardest workouts that I have ever done.. EVER. The first week is like death, I wanted to cry, but the second week got a lot easier. You can feel yourself changing so quickly and it's crazy to see how fast your body can adapt to change. I missed a few days because my parents came and I got lazy so I decided to stop and restart them after vacation. They have a set 2 month schedule and when I restart them, I don't want to miss any days. And you don't need anything to do them. If you are on hardwood floors, you need a yoga mat.. but nothing else!

I dont know how you feel about thermogenics but I take OxyElite Pro (GNC) They are the best at supressing appetite and giving energy and I have had no headaches or side effects. I read up a ton about them and it had great reviews.
