I've been on Atkins for 7 weeks (tomorrow) and I'm starting to think about moving up to stage 2 even though I have cheated several times on induction. I mostly just want to add almonds (don't worry, I will stick to my serving size), but I was thinking about adding sunflower seeds, strawberries or raspberries, heavy cream, and Greek yogurt (the highest fat/lowest carb I can find). I mostly just want a little bit more of a variety. I also want to try to eat more fat when I can, because I'm really believing this high fat/low carb thing works. I am a little hesitant to go up to stage 2, however, since I can't even stay in stage 1 for a little longer than a week without cheating. I broke down and had a moose tracks shake on Monday. I tried to talk myself out of it for about an hour before I finally gave in. I just really wanted the chocolate/ice cream/peanut better mixture.

I really wish I knew when I was in ketosis because I think that would help me stay on track, but I don't believe the urine sticks work and to do the blood test is way too expensive (because of the strips). I looked up the symptoms of being in ketosis, but they feel kind of vague to me. I dunno. Maybe I'll just buy some almonds and heavy cream (for my coffee) and try that out for a week before I add anything else...and try not to cheat!!
