Nimm's Journal, 06 July 2011

I love the ridiculous weight spikes from a week of unadulterated vacation gluttony. Up 15 pounds, and down 10 two days later.

I probably should have used a LITTLE more self control during my week off but, frankly, I didn't feel like it, and I just don't mind that I put on a few pounds from a week of eating and drinking whatever the hell I felt like. And then some.

In fact, I'm feeling pretty good about the whole thing for two reasons. First, when I did eat junk food (because it was my only option now and then), I didn't really enjoy it. I much preferred stuffing myself on more nutritious stuff.

Second, I don't really care about whatever residual pounds are left after the weight spike finishes dropping back down because (**cockiness alert**) it will be easy to diet them off in short order. By now I have such a good idea of what my daily calorie burn is, and what calories and macronutrients I'm taking in, that it seems I can basically gain or lose weight at will.

If anything, this vacation binge might end up giving my metabolism (and leptin) a useful boost that makes cutting it all off even easier. Lord knows my mood got a step up from it....
