Hildi72's Journal, 23 March 2015

Ok so just a bit on the celebratory/chill weekend. A year ago, my wife made a courageous decision to leave her place of employment after 24 years. It was a difficult decision but, I believe, a wise decision. She had been promised equity ownership in her location and that was taken away. So, she left and started her own business. I have fully supported her decision and helped to form her own company. I have been the accountant, gen. counsel, IT guy, furniture builder, etc. Its been a labor of love and I truly get why people say starting a business is like having a baby. Anyway, we celebrated the 1 year anniversary of her last day this weekend. So yeah I gained some weight but I am cognizant that it was a one time thing. Sometimes, you need to celebrate life's victories in order to see how beautiful life can be.

As for today, back in the saddle...the weight loss saddle.

Congrats to your wife! I have been self-employed since Feb of 2007 - would never go back to having a "boss' !

Thanks everyone. Yeah, the first 2 years of any new business are tough as you establish your market share and go from being in the red to being in the black. Luckily, my earnings can sustain us till the business starts to be profitable. Slowly I can see its growth....its a point of pride. On another note, I have not sensed any side effects from my switch from Synthroid to Thyroid-S. In fact, I think Thyroid-S is working better, I can feel a little bit more energized. I guess the proof will be in the how I do long-term.
