mars2kids's Journal, 10 March 2015

I finally recorded my weight and I'm not surprised that I'm up so high. I can use excuses all day, but too much junk and not enough exercise are to blame, and that's on me. Yesterday was a bad eating day and I got no exercise because I was trying to comfort myself through a headache. I should have done some exercise to help, but I got off work late, didn't feel good, and was tired, not a good combo. Today I have a headache again, but it's so nice outside that I am going to take advantage and go for a run/walk, and I bet my headache gets better. This is my last day of week 1 of couch to 10K! One week down only like 15 more to go. :) I'm taking it easy on myself and trying not to push it too hard yet. I need to start doing workouts on days between runs now too.

Like everyone I have my ups and downs, my high points and low, but I'm not quitting. I'm going to push though. My goals are to run at least 3 days a week and get exercise at least 1 other day, to eat within my RDI, eat more fruit and veggies every week, and drink at least 64 oz. of water every day. Those are reasonable goals. I know that with those goals any weight I lose will be an added bonus because the real prize will be feeling great, mentally and physically.

Have a great day!!

I'm with you in those goals. I'm doing a couch to 5K program myself. I'll be restarting it tonight. I have full confidence you will not only achieve but surpass your goals.

I like your goals. They do seem reasonable and achievable. You are not going to be stellar everyday, but keep at it. :)

Mars, Mars, Mars! What are we gonna do with us.... Each started out around 138 with 10 or so pounds to lose and look at us..... up in the 140 range! My last weigh in was 144 and I've cut carbs, etc. Doctor says "Try more exercise!" :-(

Great attitude and very realistic goals. I applaud you for running (not me). It sounds so easy on paper, but life does get in the way. Life is so far from perfect but the "I'm not giving up" attitude is what will win in the end. Even if the scale is not moving in the direction we always want, realistically, you and others are living a healthier lifestyle than before. That has to count for something, doesn't it?

Thanks for all the support! It's always so easy to put on the pounds but so hard to take them off. We can all do this!
