I haven't weighed in or tracked my calories this weekend because I was lazy and ashamed. I probably wouldn't even be able to remember everything I ate. It was kind of out of control. I know I had a burger at some point, fries and all.
Toward the end of last weekend I started PMSing something awful, and I ate everything in sight. Then on the weekend I was on my period and felt like crap, and it was a blur of half good things (with exciting new recipes!) and many bad things (popcorn, etc). Obviously, the scale wasn't happy, and I didn't even want to post the number I had ballooned to.
However, yesterday I did a cleansing fast. I drank plenty of water and tea, had a couple cups of low fat/sodium chicken broth throughout the day, and a green apple. Came to less than 100 calories or so, and it seemed to do the trick to get me back down to a more realistic weight. I'm still back in the 140s, but not for long, I promise :)
I was actually surprised at how relatively easy it was to do one day of fasting. Sure, I missed food, and my stomach gurgled in protest a bit. But my stomach didn't hurt or anything. I didn't feel like I needed food, just wanted some. And a bit of broth or fruit goes a long way, it turns out.
So I feel pretty good today. Period notwithstanding, hopefully I can get back on track now. In keeping with my new philosophy, I'm going to forgive myself for last weekend. What happened happened, it isn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. Time to move forward :)
