Went to Olive Garden last night for dinner and did ok with soup and salad but should've steered clear of the breadsticks. Afterwards came home and did a decent workout on my upper body. Between the carbs and workout I'm holding on to a couple lbs water, will flush it on out. Looking forward to tonight as my daughter and I will play a couple sets of music for a dessert and coffe social at church, I just have to not do the sweets. Have a great weekend!

Glen you've got me wanting another one now, can't though because I ate the take home one before bed last night! I've been playing music most of my life and have been blessed to be able to include all 3 of my girls in that. Going to do a benefit concert in March, just started practice for it last week and the daughter who's singing with me tonight is part of it.

i think you can treat yourself - or "treat yo self" (a la the show "Parks & Recreation") ... just maybe restrict carbs a few days after ... then moderate. check out my food diary from yesterday - blew the roof off of it. But no sense in worrying. part of the journey.

Hope you enjoyed yourself. Sounds yummy. Wonderful that you get to spend time with your children and be a part of and mentor to their talents. You all are getting better with age!! I enjoyed my night out too, but with pizza. Will probably pay for my indulgence later, but it will be worth it. Haven't had pizza in over a year.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them. I see another reason for overnight water gain, checking out my sodium content yesterday - 8457mg!! 7100 in dinner alone. I had no idea there was so much salt in their food.

Is Olive garden not like Italian McDonalds? Excuse me I do not know as I live in Italy

Beasty1, to an Italian it may very well be like an Italian McDonalds, I never thought about it like that, lol. More variety I guess than Mcdonalds and fancier inside, but you can order carry out from it so in a way maybe like Italian fast food also? It's an American Restaurant chain that serves Italian food.

Warm bread just smells so good, you know? Salads don't really have a smell, so it takes effort to make the healthier choice. Still, you're doing great. A breadstick won't kill the diet.
