Sherillynn's Journal, 26 April 2011

Well, today we spent most of the day at the hospital. We went first to talk to the surgeon and found out that my husband will be having surgery tomorrow morning bright and early. Then we went and had his pre-op physical, blood work and EKG. I ended up getting to work over an hour late. Thanks goodness my co-workers were able to cover me. I knew about the first appointment but had no idea about the following one. We left the hospital at exactly the time I should have been punching in! OOPS! From what I understand, the recovery time is 6-8 weeks. I hope everything heals well. Jeff is a diabetic so it always seems like things take twice as long for him recovery wise.
I am taking two weeks off work for a personal leave since Jeff will not be able to be out in the barn. We are right in the middle of calving and for some reason this year, we seem to be having more than our share of obstetrical emergencies already. We also have fencing that needs to be put up and did I mention planting corn? This is the busiest time of the year for farmers. Timing for this injury was really bad. My poor hubby!
I am going to try to keep up with the diet and exercising but I think if I have to deliver many more calves yet, that should be enough or a workout. I didn't see it listed on the calorie count for exercising. Maybe I'll have to add it!
So onward and upward. I am getting back on track from the holiday and now TOM is here so I won't expect much for the next few days. Pray for my husband tomorrow. Nite all!

Of course I will pray for Jeff, and also for you! You are going to need to stay strong in your faith and take good care of yourself as well. A couple of weeks off work is a necessity at this time. God bless you, Sherill,
