Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I put this up here because I feel like once I accomplish losing over 100 lbs I will just be amazed at the work I done and I will be unconquerable...that is the reason I count my calories that is why I walk at least 3 horrible miles a day, and pretend I wouldn't be anywhere else

That is so strange - I added "I am the captain of my soul" to my signature last week - the poem also struck me as very poignant to my life at the moment. If you fake enjoying your walk for long enough, before you know it you will enjoy it :) - keep strong and navigate that soul in the right direction!
