Hey Chakalina's Journal, 16 August 2014

I missed another journal yesterday but spent some time last night reading others'. You guys are the best!

I had a good calorie day. Lots of cuddling on the couch. I'm still drinking too much alcohol. I'm not doing enough heart pumping workouts but I'm keeping up with my butt exercises and abs. Mostly lunges, squats, and low side-steps. It hurts like hell and I'm not seeing an observable change yet in the back but my belly is getting flatter. My side abs are tight as hell, but the middle is still jiggly. I know the only answer to that is to lose more fat. Overall, I'm so pleased with my body transformation but I want more! I'm blessed with good health, thank God! I don't take it for granted, never will. But I want a tight body. I have 2 years before I hit my forties and I want to be in the best shape of my life by then. Lofty goal? maybe. Shallow? maybe.

I'll record my official weigh in on Sunday, which is the eve of our beach vacation. We leave for Myrtle Beach Monday morning and I'd like to have an accurate number for before and after. My plan is to restrict calories for breakfast and lunch. This will be easy because our room has a mini-kitchen. Dinner might be a problem though. We'll undoubtedly hit a restaurant every night. I hope I'll be strong. I hope I can harness my willpower. I'm going to do my best to journal and log everything.

If I'm not around, I'll be thinking of you guys.

I was kind of bad on my two week vacation, but was very active and still had I believe a two pound loss. Just stay active and aware! Good luck and have fun.

Have a great time on your beach vacation. You should spend a lot of time swimming since that's a good way to burn calories. With you, food is not the issue, it's the booze. It's amazing how many calories just one drink has :0 Think of it as a treat. You can afford to drink one or two glasses, not more. It's like eating ice cream, a small portion can't do you harm but the whole family ice cream pack can and will.

Thanks Snezica! I love swimming in the ocean, I hope the weather holds up. Looks like we'll be there during a heat wave, with a threat of thunderstorms everyday. Oh well. Yes, the booze is a tough one for me. It's been a part of my pleasure routine and reward system for too long, more so than food. Especially during summer when I don't go to work. Some days I crack my first beer at noon! It doesn't help that my circle of friends like to indulge too. We have a big pool, open floor plan, and amazing sound system which attracts visitors everyday of summer. every day. I love the company. I love the discourse and unfortunately, I love it even more with a cocktail nearby.

enjoy your trip <3 eat more fiber ,, I even will take fiber if I know I might eat a no no ,, it has helped me in the past heck I eat half melon and some no no's that day and wowowoowo the melon pushed that out fast ,,,,,,, or salads ,, I have been off track on my eating RDI to high so I new it would be again ,,, and it was been hitting higher fib foods and fish and raw veg ,,, I get so close to my drop and stress eat lately <3 its not shallow to want to be in great shape ,,, for health and looking better always is helpful <3 have a blessed day <3

That's a good tip Dreamcatcher. I don't usually pay attention to fiber and sodium...it might be something I should consider as I get closer to my goal. Do you supplement with any fiber additives or drinks, or do you mostly get it from whole natural foods?

both Lynch I have learned to love salads,,,, raw veg to me is the best,,,, but ya can get flax seed and ground it up in your blender and sprinkle it on or in your foods ,, when I was doing net carbs ,,, if something had 10 sugars and there were 5 fiber ,, ya can subtract the 5 fiber from the 10 sugar and wow ya at 5 net carbs ,, I looked at a low carb ice cream the other day and compared it with the other regular ice cream and what I notices was lower carb had higher Fiber sooooooooooo I will be putting flax seed into that for sure ,, I also use (( NOT EVERY DAY )) if I get side track and haven't eating much fiber ,, I use equate clearlax it has fiber in it ,,, also there is psylium husk ,,, I really try to have my raw veg over them or mellon exc ,,,
