Did my Day 3 of 10K training today.
10K-W1/D3
5K - 30:11
I decided to modify the program a little, 20 mins of tempo runs are not enuf for me, so I'll be running 5K's instead. This week and next week. It's hard for me to keep the same speed tho, have to work on that, especially at the park where people are the obsticles and u have to go around without kicking smbd in a butt!

Nice run! I find I have the same problems with my runs. I try to keep the same jog pace, but I run in high traffic areas and have to try and cross busy streets, can sometimes be a hassle! Lol. I agree with the tempo run too, I replace them with 5K's for my training as well.

Good to know I'm not the only crazy one! LOL 20mins tempo run is like a warm up for me :) What speed do you run tempo run (day1) and day 3 & 4? I'm still figuring it out. Wanna run faster so my tempo run (day one I set to a very high crazy speed 6.7-8.6mph so I push myself as hard as I can. 10k tempo runs I set to 6.0-7.5 on my garmin so we'll see. Wanna run like a wind! LOL

I do my training a bit different then most of the training guides. I do 1 distance day at conversation pace, 1 5K race pace day, 1 Interval day of 7mph 1 min 8 mph the next back and forth for 30 minutes, and the rest are 5K at tempo pace which is like 7-7.5 for me. Although I have tons of elevation gains and drops in my areas those numbers slow down a bit when its nice out.

2 of my days are off days as well. 1 day I do nothing, not even weight training. The other off day I combine weight training and bike training.

What's conversation pace? And how do u keep 7mph exactly? Does ur garmin "bitch" at u if u slow down? LOL Mine beeps at me if I'm out of my speed zone! :) I run 5 times a week mostly (even tho 10K program is only 4days). And then 2 days I try to fill with some activity, like walking a lot with a dog or swimming pool. I'm not a fan of weight training but I know I should do it. Maybe I'll start next week cos I still wanna try Hip-hop class and Boot camp at Ballys :)

Ok got the part ab conversation pace LOL Don't really wanna talk to myself to find out my conversational pace :)

LOL, the conversation pace is a slow pace that you could hold a full conversation with someone if you had to. This is generally what you should do your distance runs at. It helps build confidence for long runs.
