July 14th

It is a national feast in France so instead of a restday i have to cycle one more day, lots of mountains today, so i will enjoy myself.

Don't ask about the weight please, i am truly flabergasted. I been cycling my butt off for a week now, i had only one cheatday with my son, and i seem to be gaining weight!!!???

I have decided not to quit because of the weightgain. my legs feel heavy and because i sit hunched forward i also feel my arms. It must all be waterweight and muscle :( must be!!! please no not make any comments on this i will delete them :(

i am glad germany won yesterday! i turned out seventh in the pool on my club, got a little price (*yeah*) think i will sneak in an extra arms-day just to gloat (*hihihi*)

I was betting Argentina would win, eh. Don't be upset about the thing that should not be mentioned. I only step on a scale once a week and when I see that I didn't lose anything I know it's just water weight so I weight myself tomorrow and I lost a pound or more. I'm done being controlled by the numbers on the scale.

The one thing I notice on FS is the number of people who complain about weight. The complaint is either they can not get it off or they keep putting it on. The human body is a complex machine and needs constant maintenance without this the machine will go wrong. It is a fact that if we put on weight then there is a reason for that gain. We may not know or understand the reason but there is a reason just as there is a reason why we lose weight. The difference is we always seem to understand why we lose weight, strange as it may seem. We only need to read journals all over FS to see members telling us they lost this that or the other BECAUSE they did so and so. The story is different when they gain weight, look back and read other journals. You will see them saying things like "I have no idea why" along with "I only had one hamburger" or even "I have been really good so can't understand it". The fact remains and can not be denied if we put on or lose weight there is a reason for it. This can be anything at all from Water to a metabolism thing but a reason even if we dont understand it. Find the reason and you have the answer then you can fix the problem. I admire your guts and determination well done indeed. Just one question, does a Dutch girl know what a mountain looks like ?...lol

@bwy39 mountain? I image it is something like a big berliner with snowy powdered sugar on top. i hear riders say you can truly sink your teeth into them ;)

glad to inform i made it even if it was 30 minutes longer then planned... butt hurt but glad to have a day of rest tomorrow!!! hubbie challenged me to ride 140 km to the beach where he is with my son right after the tour... hmmm, i have to think about that ;) on my old bike???

Feast day in France should have no effect on you there in Amsterdam, Maud. Nice try, though! LOL. Just kidding. Rest your bottom and good for you for keeping up those calories burning!
