Feeling pretty discouraged today, and really this week. I have been feeling like I must be messing something up, I am not doing enough. loss has not been what it was. a lot of little ups and downs. I keep much closer track of things on my fit bit where I basically weight my self every other morning. maybe it is too often but it has never bothered me before. I haven't been going to the gym as much as I was because I have been opting for things I can do to enjoy the nice weather we have been having, walking, hiking, walking more, stairs, running with the dogs. but I haven't been showing the same results that I was, occasionally with less exercise than I am getting now. time to go for a run I think.

Life IS just ups and downs. If you're down, just ride it out and stay the course. Sometimes doing a few things outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine is better for you than logging dreadful hours under artificial lights at the gym. Wellness is huge, it includes so much. If your spirits are down, take a breather to enjoy life a bit, slow down, and come back strong.

Don't fall for the scam that you can exercise yourself to weight loss. Yes, it can help, especially when you first start or change up what you are doing. And obviously, if you run 10+ miles per day it will have an impact, but 90% of weight loss is from diet. Here is what you do, figure out your body fat % with something reliable, like calipers, not BIA scales, and multiply that by your weight to see how much fat you are carrying. The subtract the fat from your weight to see your lean mass. Use someone's formula (I like musclehack.com TSPA) to figure out how much protein you need for your lean mass. Work your calories, carbs, and fat intake from those numbers. Measure body% each week and adjust macros based on the formula you follow. That's how you take a scientific approach to this an guarantee consistent progress. It's now how much or little you are exercising, it's how you are eating. Don't give up, you can do this.
