Trying to find some energy and motivation. Getting my butt up off the couch to go get ready for church. Sadly, the main reason I am pushing myself is that I need to buy some generic Prilosec (eating better has not decreased my reflux issues, unfortunately) as I took my last pill this morning.

Having back pain and numbness all week has really put a damper on my normal good mood. Don't have the energy to do my crafts or clean the house. Just watching Netflix and that makes my back hurt after an hour.

Yesterday my husband wanted to go see the movie "The Grand Budapest Hotel." It was playing at our historic one-screen theater. We caught the 4 o'clock matinee and then decided to give the new restaurant in town a try. I really don't enjoy eating out anymore. There isn't much that really gets my juices flowing and the calories just add up so fast, no matter how careful I am.

I didn't really enjoy the meal all that much, but it was still nice to be out with my husband. Anyone else feel that way? I made a point of not discussing calories or food choices AT ALL while out. I skipped any snacks or beverages at the movies. I had water with dinner and used hardly any dressing on my salad. I brought home 3/4 of the pasta from my "tri-tip spinach gorgonzola fettucini." Tell the truth, I think I'm just going to dump it.

Alrighty, time to get off FS and get my butt in gear. I am going to try really hard to do my strength training dvd later today. I'm going to have my monthly phone conversation with my dad later too.

Have a great Sunday, guys!

hey there! i hope you've had a great Sunday as well! Have you tried yoga? I know that yoga is great for stretching and strengthening and a few ladies in the class I take have said it has done wonders for their achy backs, knees, etc. For me, it's a re-energizing, re-motivating hour and fifteen minutes every week. If i don't take at least one yoga class a week, i'm a super grump. Also, have you a tried a probiotic for your heartburn? In the past, one small bowl of something tomato-y like spaghetti or chili would have me breathing fire for the next 24 hours. But I started taking a probiotic and I haven't experienced heartburn since. Hopefully these friendly suggestions will help you out. I'm glad you were able to spend some QT with your hubbby and I wish you a happy day! How was the movie, by the way?

No worries Gillian, you will bounce back into things soon. I honestly believe that everyone goes through stages where working out is just a pain in the butt. As everyone tells me , you should try and change things up a bit. Do something that you wouldn't normally do when it comes to working out. I am with you 100%, so whatever you do I am with you. Enjoy life !!!!!

Thanks, guys. Movie was great. Church was OK (intern minister has been doing almost all the sermons for the past 6 months and I long to hear our regular minister speak!) As for yoga, yes empp428, I have tried it. It makes me feel calm and the stretching is good, but it doesn't help my back problems, at least so far. SherrieC, thanks for the support. I'm really not bored of my exercise routine. I am just challenged to continue as frequently because of my leg spasms, back pain, and numbness. It's been going on for 11 years, so I have just learned to deal with it, but sometimes when 2-3 weeks goes by without problems, I dream that I am finally done with it all. Then I am sad when it comes back :-(
